By car:
- Exit the A12 Highway at the Massa tollgate.
- Turn right immediately after the exit (towards Massa).
- Turn left at the first traffic light (intersection of Strada Provinciale Massa-Avenza and Via degli Oliveti).
- Continue straight until you reach the third traffic light (intersection with Via Aurelia Ovest) and turn right. Keep going straight (crossing the Frigido River bridge onto Via Puccini) until you encounter the fifth traffic light at the central Piazza Liberazione.
- Turn left onto Viale Chiesa and continue until you reach the Town Hall (Piazza Matteotti).
- Turn right onto Via Petrarca and follow it directly into Piazza Aranci.
By bus:
Once you arrive at the main bus stop in Piazza Matteotti (located right by the Town Hall), the Ducal Palace is just a short and easy walk away.
By train:
From the ‘Massa Centro’ railway station, you can take a taxi or any local bus line, as all routes travel directly to the centre of Massa (Piazza Matteotti). From there, follow the walking directions above.
Parking:
- Piazza Aranci: paid parking (closed on Tuesdays for the weekly street market)
- Via del Bastione: paid parking
- Via Mura Sud (fruit and vegetable market area): free parking
- Via Prado (Porta Martana): free parking
